Baroque beauty at the intersection of three ravines
Scicli is located in the southeast of Sicily at the intersection of three ravines. In 1693, the small country town was completely destroyed by a devastating earthquake – and rose renewed in Baroque splendour. Due to its fanciful buildings and beautifully laid out plazas, the UNESCO nominated Scicli World Heritage Site.
Donnalucata is an urban district of Scicli. The people here still live mainly on farming and fishing. Our tip: when visiting the local fish market, you will get to know the land and the people!
