Family Pandova's small, family-run Bed & Breakfast Il Casale lies on the peninsula of Isola di Siracusa, on a 20,000 m² property adorned by colorful, typically Sicilian vegetation. From the slightly rising premises with pool you have got a view across the bay and of the Ionian Sea, which surrounds Syracuse.

Charming Bed & Breakfast on the island of Sicily

Apart from B&B Il Casale, three holiday homes and three smaller apartments lie scattered over the rambling, beautifully laid-out premises. The B&B includes only two guest rooms. 

Guest room 'Maestrale', the room we have chosen for you, comes with a terrace and a plot of garden and is located in a ground-level building. You have got a particularly beautiful view onto the landscape of the peninsula of Siracusa, which is partly a nature reserve.

Furnishing of the very cozy guest room includes a double bed, a small combo kitchenette (2 electric burners, sink, refrigerator with freezer compartment), air conditioning with heating system, TV and fly screens. The bathroom is equipped with shower cabin, WC and bidet.

On the room's partly roofed terrace and in the adjoining plot of garden you can spend relaxing hours reading, unwinding and sunbathing. A screen and some plants separate your terrace from the neighboring terrace. You can have the typically Italian breakfast (sweet!) served either on your terrace or in the breakfast room only a few meters off. 

Pool and Mediterranean flora

The large pool (18 m long, 5 m wide, 1.40 m deep) is found in central location on the property and is shared by all the holiday guests on the premises. It is, in general and weather conditions permitting, open daily from mid-May to October. 

After swimming a few laps in the pool, relax on the comfortable sun loungers. Outdoor showers, changing cubicles and WCs are also found in the pool area. Free WiFi is available at and around the pool.

The sea as well as restaurants and shopping facilities are found about 2 km off. Should your holiday program include some excursions, we strongly recommend renting a car onsite. Parking is available on the fenced property, right below the guest rooms. 

Should you be on the lookout for a good restaurant, "Ostrica Park" is the place to go. The restaurant is located right by the sea and serves delicious dishes of fresh-caught fish.

The nearest sandy beach with parking and small bar is 1.6 km, a boat rental ca. 1 km off. We can also recommend the beaches at Fontance Bianche, the rocky bays at nature reserve Plemmirio and the coast near Noto.

Destinations for excursions

Syracuse and its Old Town of Ortigia, which is located on a small island, are 10 km off and absolutely worth a visit. In ancient times, it counted among the most powerful towns of the world then known and Cicero called it the most beautiful and greatest of all Greek towns.

South of Isola di Siracusa lie the beautiful Baroque towns of Avola and Noto as well as the well-known nature reserve of Oasi Vendicari, the latter known as a place of rest for migratory birds on their way to Africa in winter. In summer Oasi Vendicari is a wonderful place for swimming in the sea and relaxing at marvelous beaches, in spring/autumn it is great for hiking tours between Mediterranean macchia and the sea.   

In the hinterland of Syracuse, the UNESCO World Heritage listed necropolis of Pantálica with its 5000 tomb caves and the deep gorge of the Anapo river await you at nature reserve „Riserva Naturale Orientata“.
