Family Pandova's holiday accommodations, one of which is small B&B Il Casale, lie scattered on a slightly rising, 20,000 m² property on peninsula Isola di Siracusa. From the beautifully laid-out premises with colorful, typically Sicilian vegetation and a pool for shared use, you have got a view across the bay and of the Ionian Sea around Syracuse.

Charming Bed & Breakfast on the island of Sicily

Charming B&B Il Casale includes only two guest rooms. We have selected room 'Maestrale', which comes with a terrace and a plot of garden and is located in a ground-level building.

You have got a particularly beautiful view onto the landscape of the peninsula of Siracusa, part of which is a nature reserve.

Maestrale is a very cozy guest room with double bed, small combo kitchenette (2 electric burners, sink, refrigerator with freezer compartment), air conditioning with heating device, TV, fly screens and, of course, en-suite bathroom (shower/WC/bidet).

On the room's partly roofed terrace and in the adjoining plot of garden you can spend pleasant hours reading, unwinding and sunbathing. A screen and some plants separate Maestrale's terrace from the neighboring terrace.

Breakfast: Breakfast is typically Italian (sweet!). It is served in the breakfast room only a few meters off, but you can also have it served on your terrace. 

Pool and Mediterranean flora

The large pool (18 m x 5 m; 1.40 m deep) in central location on the property is shared by all of family Pandova's guests. It is, in general and weather conditions permitting, open daily from mid-May to October. 

In the pool area you find comfortable loungers to relax and take a sunbath on, outdoor showers, changing cubicles and WCs at your disposal.

Further information for your stay at Il Casale

The sea as well as restaurants and shopping facilities are ca. 2 km from Il Casale. Should your holiday program include some excursions or sightseeing tours, we strongly recommend renting a car on site. Parking is available on the fenced property, right below the guest rooms. 

A good restaurant is nearby "Ostrica Park", which is located right by the sea and serves delicious dishes of fresh-caught fish.

The nearest sandy beach with parking and small bar is 1.6 km, a boat rental ca. 1 km off. We can also recommend the beaches at Fontance Bianche, the rocky bays at nature reserve Plemmirio and the coast near Noto.

Destinations for excursions

Syracuse and its Old Town island of Ortigia are 10 km off and absolutely worth a visit. In ancient times, it counted among the most powerful towns of the world then known and Cicero called it the most beautiful and greatest of all Greek towns.

South of Isola di Siracusa lie the beautiful Baroque towns of Avola and Noto as well as nature reserve Oasi di Vendicari. The nature reserve is quite well-known, amongst others as a place of rest for migratory birds on their long journeys. In summer, it is a wonderful place to go to for a bit of dolce far niente at the beautiful bathing bays and beaches there; in spring/autumn it is a great place for hiking tours between Mediterranean macchia and the sea.   

In the hinterland of Syracuse, the UNESCO World Heritage listed necropolis of Pantálica and its 5,000 tomb caves as well as the deep gorge of the Anapo river await you at nature reserve "Riserva Naturale Orientata Pantalica, Valle dell'Anapo e Torrente Cava Grande".
