When we are onsite, the friendly owner, Maria Lucia, goes into rhapsodies. She tells you about mild nights on the villa’s terrace at full moon, when the moon and the stars illuminate the landscape and the sea takes on a golden shimmer.
On the four terraces, two of which are roofed, you are sure to find your favorite spot.
Only 1.5 km off, there is a bathing spot sloping gently into the sea, and the nearest gently sloping sandy beaches are only 5 km off.
It is only 13 km to the town of Syracuse, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Stroll through the Old Town, which is located on a peninsula, and feel the touch of the past. Even Cicero called Syracuse the greatest and most beautiful of all Greek towns in the ancient world.
The ground floor of Villa Marilu includes a double bedroom, a bedroom with bunk beds, a bathroom with shower cabin, WC and bidet, the kitchen with oven, gas stove and refrigerator with freezer compartment as well as the living-dining room with wood-fired stove, TV and sofa.
The second double bedroom with access of the balcony and another bathroom with shower cabin, WC and bidet are found on the upper floor.
The spacious premises Villa Marilu is located on offer a fantastic splendor of Mediterranean plants. Pine, olive and carob trees provide for pleasant shade on hot days and bright bougainvillea add dabs of color.
On the two sea view terraces as well as on the balcony, which is accessible from the upper-floor bedroom, you are sure to find your favorite spot for reading or relaxing.
Rattan furniture, sun beds and a sun shade are at your disposal.
Outdoor kitchen: If you want to do some cooking together out in the open, then you can use the brick pizza oven, barbecue and 4-burner gas stove in the outdoor kitchen.
The villa is furnished with air conditioning, wood-fired stove, WLan, washing machine, iron, radio and TV, outdoor kitchen and outdoor shower.
You can park your car on the fenced premises.
A grocery store and a pizzeria are found about 200 m off.
It is 3 km to the nearest restaurant and supermarket.
300 m along a footpath take you to the rocky cliff with steep access into the sea. After 1.5 km, there is a gently sloping access to the sea.
Sandy beaches with parking are found 5 km off.
At nature reserve Plemmirio, crystal clear water and an underwater world rich in species offer a great opportunity to get to know the Mediterranean Sea under water.
Diving centers in the surrounding area rent out snorkeling equipment and offer diving courses.
Experience pure culture at „Ortigia“; the Old Town of Syracuse is located on a peninsula surrounded by the sea.
While walking through the car-free centro storico, you pass through nice alleys with small artists’ shops, which display their goods out in the open.
Stroll along the seaside promenade until you reach the cathedral square, the town’s grandest square featuring late Baroque buildings and the majestic cathedral with well-preserved columns of the former Temple of Athena.
