La Sicula – Holiday home with pool at Syracuse

A very special getaway for two

La Sicula is simply the perfect holiday accommodation for a couple. The small, very individually designed holiday home near Syracuse and Ortigia mirrors owner Patrizia's Sicilian lifestyle more than any of her other houses on the ca. 20,000 m² premises with sea view.

When vacationing at La Sicula, you can choose between two pools, depending on what you want to do: go for a swim in the large, 18 m pool, which is shared by all the guests staying on the property, or cool off and relax in the small jacuzzi pool on the terrace in front of La Sicula. 

In the vicinity of La Sicula lie holiday homes Villa Bianca and Villa Gialla. A bit further off lie holiday apartment Casa Isola Verde, holiday homes Villino Elena, Casetta Aladino, Villa Antica and the residence of the owning family.

A summer on the island of Sicily

La Sicula is the kind of accommodation Southern Italians spend the long, hot summer months at. Life is mainly lived out in the open. No matter what you do, you simply want to enjoy the warm temperatures, the sun, the blue skies... All this was taken into consideration when 'creating' La Sicula. 

Via the private terrace with jacuzzi pool, which is framed by a low stone wall and plants, you enter the house into a room which is both living and sleeping area. Furnishing of the room includes a double bed, a cozy chair, TV and a small table with two chairs. 

Typically Sicilian-style, the room opens onto the roofed outdoor kitchen, where you find at your disposal: electric stove, refrigerator, water boiler, Italian-style coffee maker as well as a table and chairs. 

The bathroom (shower/WC/bidet, hair dryer), which is open in layout, lies behind the living/sleeping room, from which it is separated only by a wall partition (no doors!). That is why we recommend La Sicula only for couples. 

Furnishing of the holiday home also includes air conditioning with heating device, outdoor shower as well as outdoor furniture (table, chairs, loungers, sunshade). 
WiFi login is available in the outdoor area around the shared pool.

Renting a car might not be a bad idea, as La Sicula is about 1 km from supermarkets, restaurants and beaches. Ortigia, the Baroque Old Town of Syracuse, is ca. 10 km off. 

Parking is available next to the holiday home. The premises La Sicula and the other accommodations are located on are completely fenced.  

Beach and bathing holidays in the south-east of Sicily

Mount Etna, which lies about 30 min. north of Syracuse, lends a wild and varied face to the coast between Acireale and Pachino. Sandy beach bays are found at Fontane Bianche, in the protected area of Vendicari and north of Avola. 

Lidi considered hip, with cool beach bars and Caribbean-like sea waters, are found around the popular fishing village of Marzamemi. The sandy beach of San Lorenzo, Agua Beach Resort included, is the best-known of the area. Spending a whole day at the beach there is easy.

Should you be interested in the island's underwater world and prefer rocky coastal sections, nature reserve Plemmirio is the place to go, it is only a few kilometers off. To go snorkeling there is almost a must. In summer chic and cozy lidi are found at Plemmirio, too - go for a swim in the sea, go snorkeling in the sea, relax at one of the lidi.
