Small, very individually designed Casetta Aladino is found on rambling premises with Mediterranean garden and large pool. On the peninsula south of Syracuse, you spend holidays amidst blooming, fragrant nature, at a varied coastline and near culturally interesting Baroque towns such as Noto and Ragusa.
Apart from Casetta Aladino, some other accommodations as well as the residence of landlady Patrizia are also located on the premises. So, should you be traveling with a larger group, be it family or friends, there is no problem to accommodate you all. The accommodations include:
Casetta Aladino was created, so to speak, by remodeling two former, separate guest rooms of B&B Il Casale. That is why guests staying at the Casetta have got two windowed bathrooms at their disposal.
The former rooms have been turned into a living area with kitchenette, dining furniture, TV as well as a cozy chair and a bedroom with double bed. Both the living area and the bedroom open onto separate outdoor areas, each a ca. 20 m² terrace.
As each terrace has reed thatched roofing, you can relax on a sun bed in the shade it provides. Outdoor furnishing also includes a small table and chairs, should you wish to have breakfast out in the open and enjoy the morning sun.
From the outdoor area as well as from the whole property and the pool you have got a view of the bay of Syracuse. The sea is only ca. 700 m off.
Indoor furnishing of Casetta Aladino includes: refrigerator, Italian-style coffee maker, two-plate stove (electric), hair dryer, air conditioning and ceiling fans in both rooms.
The bathrooms are equipped with shower (with shower curtain), WC and bidet.
The holiday homes and apartments on the premises lie scattered around the pool, which measures 18 m in length. From May to October, Patrizia’s guests can swim their laps in or take a sunbath and relax at the pool.
The pool area, which offers a unique view of the bay of Syracuse with the 'Old Town island' of Ortigia, is also the WiFi area.
For shopping tours or excursions in the southeast of Sicily we recommend renting a car. There are enough parking spaces on the premises for the guests of the accommodations.
About 700 m off, there are a few restaurants; a shopping facility is found ca. 1 km off. The nearest beach is ca. 1.6 km from the Casetta. For a long day at the beach, however, we recommend the sandy beaches at Fontane Bianche or Avola.
From the point of view of architecture, Sicily’s southeast is famous for its Baroque towns. Be it Ortigia, Noto, Ragusa Ibla, Scicli or Modica – each of these towns has its very special, unique flair and is absolutely worth a visit. Especially during low season, when there is less hustling and bustling, you can go on a relaxed discovery tour of the region’s more recent history, which the palazzi, churches and museums ‘tell’ you about.
Further inland, the ruins of the former, original towns of Avola Antica and Noto Antica, destroyed by a heavy earthquake in 1693, are also worth stopping by.
When staying at or near Syracuse, you are not far from Mount Etna. For many travelers and visitors to Sicily a tour to the main crater of the volcano surely counts among the highlights of their journey.
