Tranquil nest at the seaside

Framed by the setting of majestic Monte Cofano and the lush green plain of Macari, the suburb of San Vito Lo Capo, holiday apartment Il Giuccu lies in the district of Castelluzzo and only about 700 m from the sea and the beach.  

The holiday apartment is conveniently located not only because it is close to the beaches of Macari and to nature reserve Monte Cofano, but also because there is an excellent connection to historically significant sites of northwestern Sicily, for example the medieval town of Erice and the temples of Segesta.

The lovely holiday apartment

Il Giuccu, "giuccu" is Sicilian dialect for "bird’s nest", can in short be described as "small, but lovely" and is an ideal accommodation for a couple.

It includes a comfortable live-and-eat-in kitchen (incl. 4-burner gas stove, microwave, refrigerator with freezer compartment) with fireplace and SAT-TV, a double bedroom with canopy bed and a bathroom (shower cabin/WC/bidet).

The additional sleeping facility in the living area is suitable for a child. WiFi and air conditioning with heating device are available at the apartment and can be used for an extra charge.

Wonderful outdoor area

From your private terrace with cozy rattan furniture to relax on, you can let your gaze drift across the trees towards the sea and in the evenings enjoy the spectacle of the setting sun.

Should you be in the mood for grilled fish or meat, then use the outdoor grill. The outdoor shower in the garden comes in handy, either to cool off in-between or to wash the sand off your feet.

On the 3,500 m² fenced premises, you find olive and fig trees as well as all kinds of herbs, which might flavor some of your dishes.
On site, owner Giuseppe proudly told us about the 100 % organic olive oil he produces.

Giuseppe, who spends mainly the weekends in the other part of the house with his family, takes care of welcoming the guests of his holiday apartment. Upon prior request (!), he provides two bicycles, which you can use to explore the surrounding area.

Surrounding area

For a swim in the sea you can stop at the shingle and sandy bays ca. 700 m from Il Giuccu. Shopping can be done at Castelluzzo (ca. 1.5 km). To get there, either by bike or by car, you need only follow the coastal road behind the holiday apartment.

Many other stores as well as bars and restaurants and a terrific, fine sandy beach are found at San Vito Lo Capo (ca. 5 km).

Tips for excursions

If you love hiking through authentic nature, you can do so at Monte Cofano, but also at nature reserve "Riserva dello Zingaro".

Starting at San Vito Lo Capo, it takes you about three hours to traverse Riserva dello Zingaro; in between stop at the small bays for a swim in the sea or to go snorkeling and explore the rich underwater world.
