„Per arrivare a mare, uscendo dalla casa, si deve esclusivamente attraversare la spiaggia“ ("To get to the sea you need only cross the sandy beach") – that is how Signor Adriano, the friendly owner and producer of organic tomatoes, describes the location of his holiday apartments at Donnalucata.

Onsite, we found this fantastic location to be true. Just one step out of the house, so to speak, and you feel the fine sand of the beach beneath your feet.

From among the four holiday apartments in the house, we have chosen the 1st floor apartment with its fantastic sea view terrace for our Cilentano guests.

The wide sandy beach of the district of Pezzafilippa stretches out before you. With its gently sloping access into the sea the beach offers ideal conditions for families with children.

The center of Donnalucata is within a walking distance of about 800 m along the beach. So, when taking a morning stroll along the beach, you might bring 'home' some fresh panini for breakfast!

Charming holiday apartment by the sea at Donnalucata/Scicli

Charming Casa Pezzafilippa sleeps two adults and two children in a double bedroom and a room with bunk bed.

The eat-in kitchen includes a kitchenette with 4-burner gas stove, oven and refrigerator with freezer compartment, dining furniture and a sofa bed. The room opens onto the apartment’s terrace.

The bathroom is equipped with shower, WC and bidet.

Outdoor area

On the terrace, which is shaded by an awning and where you find garden furniture, a small grill and a wash basin at your disposal, you are seated, so-to-speak, directly above the bright sandy beach.

Furnishing

Furnishing of Casa Pezzafilippa includes, amongst others, grill and air conditioning with heating system. There is a washing machine for shared use in the house.

Parking: You can park your car in a public parking lot near the holiday apartment.

Surroundings

Shopping facilities and restaurants are found at Donnalucata (800 m walk along the sandy beach, 2 km by car).

The UNESCO World Heritage listed Baroque town of Scicli is only 8 km off.

Tips

Should you be an early riser, do stop by the fish market of Donnalucata, where the fresh catch is offered for sale. You might even get to chat with the fishermen and the inhabitants of the town.

Cyclists too get their money’s worth in the south of Sicily. The flat open country and the fact that there is hardly any traffic on the coastal road during low season offer ideal conditions for a discovery tour of the southern part of Italy’s largest island by bike.
