"Per arrivare a mare, uscendo dalla casa, si deve esclusivamente attraversare la spiaggia." ("To get to the sea you need only cross the sandy beach.") – that's how friendly owner Signor Adriano, who also grows organic tomatoes, describes the location of his four holiday apartments at Donnalucata.

When we were on site, we found this fantastic location to be true. The wide sandy beach of the district of Pezzafilippa stretches out in front of the house. With its gently sloping access into the sea the beach offers ideal conditions for families with children.

From among the four holiday apartments in the house, we have chosen for our Cilentano guests the 1st-floor apartment with a fantastic sea view terrace.

Charming holiday apartment by the sea at Donnalucata/Scicli

Charming Casa Pezzafilippa accommodates two adults and two children.

The apartment includes a double bedroom, a bunk-bed room for children and a bathroom (shower/WC/bidet).

The eat-in kitchen with kitchen unit (incl. 4-burner gas stove, oven, refrigerator with freezer compartment), dining furniture and sofa bed opens onto the apartment’s terrace.

Sea view terrace

On the terrace, which is shaded by an awning and where you find garden furniture, a small grill and a wash basin at your disposal, you are seated, so-to-speak, directly above the bright sandy beach.

Furnishing of Casa Pezzafilippa also includes air conditioning with heating system and internet.
A washing machine is shared by the four apartments in the house.

Parking: You can park your car in a public parking lot near the holiday apartment.

Surroundings

Shopping facilities and restaurants are found at Donnalucata, which is ca. 2 km by car from Casa Pezzafilippa. A (ca. 800 m) walk along the sandy beach also takes you to the center of Donnalucata. So, when taking a morning stroll, you could bring 'home' some fresh panini for breakfast!

The UNESCO World Heritage listed Baroque town of Scicli is only 8 km off.

Tips

Should you be an early riser, do stop by the fish market of Donnalucata, where the fresh catch is offered for sale. You might even get to chat with the fishermen and the inhabitants of the town.

Cyclists too get their money’s worth in the south of Sicily. The flat open country and the fact that there is hardly any traffic on the coastal road during low season offer ideal conditions for a discovery tour of the southern part of Italy’s largest island by bike.
