„Per arrivare a mare, uscendo dalla casa, si deve esclusivamente attraversare la spiaggia“ (in English: "In order to reach the sea, you need only cross the sandy beach") – that is how the friendly owner and producer of organic tomatoes, Signor Adriano, describes the location of his holiday apartments at Donnalucata.
Onsite, we were able to witness this fantastic location ourselves. Just one step out of the house and you feel the fine sand beneath your feet.
From among the four holiday apartments in the house, we have chosen for you the 1st floor apartment which offers a fantastic sea view terrace.
The wide sandy beach of the district of Pezzafilippa stretches out before you. Due to the gently sloping access into the sea, the beach offers ideal conditions for families with children.
The center of Donnalucata is within walking distance of about 800 m along the beach. So, when taking a morning stroll along the beach, you might bring home, for example, fresh panini for breakfast!
Casa Pezzafilippa accommodates two adults and two children. There is a double bedroom as well as a room with bunk bed.
The eat-in kitchen includes a sofa bed, a kitchenette with 4-burner gas stove, oven, refrigerator with freezer compartment and a dining table. The kitchen gives onto the apartment’s terrace.
The bathroom is equipped with shower, WC and bidet.
On the terrace, which is shaded by an awning, you are seated, so-to-speak, directly above the bright sandy beach. Garden furniture, a small barbecue and a wash basin are at your disposal.
Casa Pezzafilippa includes, among others, a washing machine for shared use, a barbecue and air condition with heating.
Parking: You can park your car in a public parking near the holiday apartment.
Shopping facilities and restaurants are found at Donnalucata (800 m on foot via the sandy beach, 2 km by car).
The Baroque town of Scicli, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is only 8 km off.
To those who rise early, we recommend a visit to the fish market of Donnalucata, where you can buy fresh-caught seafood. You might even get to chat with the fishermen and the inhabitants of the town.
In the south of Sicily, cyclists get their money’s worth, too. The flat open country and the fact that there is hardly any traffic on the coastal road during low season are ideal conditions for discovering the southern part of Italy’s largest island by bike.
