 | The small coastal town of Punta Secca, called „A Sicca“ (the sandbank) by the locals, is located in the southeast of Sicily, directly at the sea. Most probably, the town with its characteristic lighthouse owes its name to a small rock formation off the east side of the beach. Punta Secca, belonging to the municipality of Santa Croce Camerina, became famous as one of the main locations for the Commissario Montalbano film series. In the town’s piazza, you will find the house inhabited by Commissario Montalbano in the film adaptations of Andrea Camilleri’s novels. |
