Travelling information
Journey by train from Southern Germany is one of the least expensive ways of travelling.
The fastest train connection by Euro-Night (daily) takes the route from Munich via Austria to Rome, from where an Italian train continues on to Messina (Sicily). Stops on the way are Rosenheim, Kufstein, Wörgl, Jenbach and Innsbruck. The journey will take about 21 hours.
Our guests from Austria can take the Euro-Night from Vienna to Rome, via Bruck a.d. Mur, Leoben, Knittelfeld, Friesach, Klagenfurt and Villach.
Our guests from Switzerland are recommended to take the Euro-Night from Zurich to Rome, via Olten, Bern, Thun, Spiez and Brig.

Vacationers planning to take a ferry should mind the following facts: In general, the rates are per car. Pre-booking is recommended, especially during high season. Please note that the timetables might change several times per year and that not all ferry operators head for Sicily all year round.
Suitable destinations would be the airports of Catania and Palermo.
Alternatively, many airlines, such as Alitalia and Lufthansa, offer flights to Sicily with a transfer in Milan or Rome.
The emissions of one passenger on the outward flight from "London - Heathrow" to "Catania" and return create the climate impact of about 980 kg CO2, from New York about 5000 kg CO2.
You can save this amount of CO2 in an atmosfair climate project for 24,00 Euro respective 116,00 Euro and receive an atmosfair certificate.
