Nature reserve Oasi di Vendicari, which borders on the seaside resort of San Lorenzo, was established in 1974 and represents a unique coastal landscape. Dunes, woodland and the so-called "pantani", several lagoon lakes, shape the reserve.
Marked-out hiking trails run through the ca. 1,500 ha reserve. With a bit of luck you can watch flamingos, cranes, pelicans and pond turtles – a great experience for the young and young-at-heart.
