For ancient Greece, Syracuse used to be one of the most important towns. But not only the Greeks have left their traces, they were followed by the Romans and Byzantines, by the Arabs, Normans and Aragonese.
And that is what you feel and see when wandering around the city. The very names of the districts, for example Neapolis, Akradina, Ortigia, Tyche and Epipoli, suggest quite a number of different rulers. Ortigia, the "island of quails", is the original core of Syracuse. A trip to the peninsula is like a journey into a thousand-year-old past.
The streets still 'echo' with old cultures and the town is framed by the splendor of the sky, the sun and the sea. It is there, in the immediate vicinity of the Temple of Apollo, that you find holiday apartment Casa Apollo.
Casa Apollo is located on the second floor of an old palazzo. Each window opens onto a French balcony with a gorgeous view of the old market hall, the Temple of Apollo and the sea.
The rooms of the holiday apartment are bright, spacious and accommodate up to four persons. The apartment is suitable for families with young children, too, as they find a children’s cot, a high chair and a buggy for the youngest at their disposal.
The bedroom which is furnished with a double bed offers access of another bedroom with a sofa bed for 2 and the children’s cot. The cozy living-dining room includes a large couch, a chair, TV and a large dining table. The kitchen is fitted with refrigerator and freezer compartment, 4-burner gas stove, oven, toaster and water boiler. The bathroom is equipped with shower, WC, bidet and washing machine.
Casa Apollo includes washing machine, hair dryer, ironing board and iron, toaster, water boiler, children’s cot, high chair, buggy and free WLAN. There is air conditioning in the living room. You can park your car at the roadside.
At Ortigia, you find numerous restaurants, bars and stores. From Monday – Saturday, you can buy all kinds of food at a market in Via Trento, the street 'just around the corner' from your apartment.
At Ortigia, you are 'surrounded' by the sea. If you want to go swimming - the nearest bathing platform is about 400 m off. If you prefer beautiful sandy beaches we can recommend the beaches of Arenella, 11 km off, or Fontane Bianche, 15 km off.
From Syracuse, Catania, Sicily’s second largest city, is easily reached by bus or by car. The city is brimful of life, magnificent buildings and cultural offerings. If you prefer something more 'calm', then do not miss out on an excursion to Mount Etna. Take part in a guided tour and learn some amazing facts about Europe’s most active volcano.
The exact address and the information about the details of your journey are included in the booking confirmation.
