“Bandiera Blu” for numerous beaches in Southern Italy
Every year, Southern Italy scores exceptionally well concerning the ranking of beaches with excellent bathing water quality.
The coveted “Blue Flag” for outstanding water quality is awarded by the FEE (Foundation for Environmental Education) which bases its choice on very strict criteria. Also on Sicily flies the Blue Flag.

Awards: Best guest pictures and videos
Scenic highlights, quaint scenes of village life, favourite beaches, minor and great holiday experiences … you always try to capture and record the most beautiful moments of your holiday. We, at Cilentano, are looking forward to your holiday photos and your recordings by video or mobile. As in the years before, the best submissions (by e-mail or by mail in paper quality or as photo CD) will be rewarded with a € 50 voucher for photos and a € 100 voucher for videos. Sicily - a little world of its own
Sicily’s east is worth a trip: its ever-changing past is present not least in the splendid Old Towns of Siracusa, Modica and Noto, all belonging the UNESCO word cultural heritage. In the back country, enchanted lemon and almond groves mix with spectacular gorges and lonely altitude plateaus. Between Avola and Capo Passero, the most southern spot in Sicily, there are some of the most beautiful sandy beaches in Italy – a paradise for water rats. This year, we were able to extend our Sicily offer by new holiday lodgings in this attractive region.
