Villa Rais, your holiday home in Sicily, offers perfect conditions for a carefree bathing holiday. It is located only 50 m from the several kilometres of slowly inclining, sandy beach. On the more than 100 sqm roof terrace you enjoy the view upon the sea shimmering in the sun.
The holiday home adjacent to a residential building is situated in the Pachino-Granelli community, a small scattered settlement in Sicily’s southeast. Here you still find untouched coastal landscapes, green macchia and marvellous sandy beaches.
Villa Rais offers space for up to five guests and is located at the end of a cul-de-sac leading to the beach. “Living outdoors” is possible on the two large terraces of your holiday home. The roofed terrace on the ground floor with access to the living room and kitchen is perfectly suited to dine outside. The roof terrace with sea view accessible from here by an exterior staircase invites you to sunbathe.
The owner of Villa Rais is an artist living in Rome. His holiday home in Sicily has been decorated by beautiful “murales”, in English: wall paintings, which give the house a welcoming, maritime atmosphere.
You enter your holiday home across the roofed terrace and find yourself in the comfortable living room (with TV).

The brick kitchen is equipped with a traditional stone oven. You may chose from either dining here or on the roofed terrace accessible from the kitchen.
Two of the three bedrooms of your holiday home are furnished with a double bed each. The third room is a single bedroom.
Your bathroom is equipped with shower/bidet/WC.
Especially handy after a day on the beach: the outdoor shower on the ground-floor terrace.

You may park your car on a reserved parking sport about 50 m from the house.
The nearest shopping possibilities and restaurants are found in Marina di Marza, about 3.5 km from the house or in Pachino, about 6 km away.
During your stay in Villa Rais you dive into a mainly untouched nature. The Riserva Oasi di Vendicari borders to the community of Pachino. Dunes, laguna lakes and forest areas harbour rare plant and animal species.
With some luck you can watch cranes, pelicans, flamingos and terrapins during a hiking tour on the laid-out paths. Wide sandy beaches with crystal-clear water provide for refreshing cooling.

Another destination worth a visit is the Cava d’Ispica. The gorge fascinates not only because of its spectacular natural landscape. Grottoes from the Stone Ages with up to 3000 year-old paintings, catacombs and the cave church of Santa Maria take the visitors on a trip through time into the past.

Culturally interested are also recommended to visit the famous baroque towns in the hinterland. Noto, Modica and Ragusa-Ibla in their architectural splendour and exposed location give testimony of the ever-changing history of Italy’s largest island. After the disastrous earthquake in 1693 these three towns rose like a phoenix and in even more glamour. Rightfully, Noto and Modica have been declared UNESCO world cultural heritage.
