At the mouth of the river Simeto into the Ionian Sea of Sicily lies the natural reservation "Oasi del Simeto", with its fascinating flora and fauna. Villa Allegra is situated in the protected area of the wildlife reservation, only 400 m from the wide, fine sandy beach with beautiful dunes. The river plain of the Simeto is dominated by the ever-present Etna, the highest active volcano in Europe. At the foot of the Etna, 13 km from Villa Allegra, lies the lively coastal town of Catania.
Villa Allegra is part of a private villa and holiday park, which is also known as preferred residential area. The southwards-built house offers a kitchen, a living room, two bedrooms (with double bed and twin beds resp.) and a bathroom with sitz bath (with shower device and curtain)/WC/bidet. For a possible 5th and 6th person there are two sleeping sofas in the living area.

From the living area you have access to the roofed south terrace with adjoining pergola. If you are looking for shade on especially hot days, the terrace on the northern side of the house – also with pergola – is the ideal spot. Here you also find a barbecue grill and an outdoor shower at your disposal. From the southward terrace a spiral staircase takes you to the nice roof terrace.
In the small, beautifully laid out garden, which houses a wide variety of Mediterranean plants, grow the classic "Arance rosse", the Sicilian blood oranges.

Additional features of the villa are a washing machine, Sat-TV (with English channels), radio and a child's cot (no extra charge). There are two parking spots on the fenced property.
In the core zone of the wildlife reservation (1 km from the house), in which a broad net of trails is laid out, you will discover a diverse bird population with heron, king’s gull, bee-eater and purple coot. Not only hikers, but riders and divers get their money’s worth here, as well.
Apart from the baroque town of Catania with cathedral, amphitheatre and fish market, Taormina, Syracuse and Acireale are nearby points of interest and worth visiting.
In the holiday park there is a small grocery store. Other shopping possibilities and restaurants are found in close vicinity.
